Medication on the Peace Bus

At this age our Peace Bus youth are responsible to bring and store their own medication. This protects leaders from liability issues.  Medication is not  kept in the first aid kit.

They can also buy medication over the counter if required but should inform a leader if doing so and when taking medication (so leaders can monitor for reactions and are aware of health issues etc.).

Leaders need to know who is packing what medication and where it is stored and when youth are taking medication (so that it is monitored).

Leaders are not permitted to dispense medicine but anytime somebody takes some medication  they must inform a leader (unless it is medication that is taken daily). This is primarily due to liability reasons.

A delegate can borrow regular a headache medicine (Tylenol or aspirin) from a fellow traveler as long as they inform a leader and it is medication that they regularly take at home.
